With Ann helping me with all kinds of stuffs, including digging the hole to plant bulbs, watering garden, weeding the flowers, and cooking apple crumbles and pumpkin soup!, I slowly seemed to get the hang of them, like A to Z. Sometime along the way, or much later, probably, I kinda realized that I had this prejudice over labor-jobs (even though Ann quite didn't agree that it was anywhere near manual labor, but certainly I felt it so!), and I'm so grateful I could have this chance to recognize it..
She has been so patient with me, now I know in hindsight... thanks =)

Here's the review from a young italian long term traveller! I planned to stay in Lanjaron no more than 2 weeks, been working at the beautiful and idyllic ranch of Caballo Blanco, then had the good fortune to have an exchange at LA CASA DEL VIENTO where I eventually decided that I couldnt leave too soon!
So here I am, after other three weeks in Lanjaron, writing about one of my best volunteering experience ever! LA CASA DEL VIENTO is a really different place respect any other accomodations pla... Continue reading...

This was my third trip to Spain to stay with Anne whilst cycling in the area with ToroLocoSpain. The set-up could not be much better: quiet, relaxing, great food, great views, and an awesome freshwater swimming pool. Anne's hospitality cannot be faulted, I hope to return again soon. I am due to marry in 5 weeks from now and my bridesmaids organised a Hen weekend to remember. A total suprise I was told on the thursday night that at 9 am the next morning 8 of us would be flying out to Andalucia to ride for the weekend! Ali, Jane, Ann and Sarah looked after us fantastically!
Extremely welcoming and friendly they taxied us from the airport up a steep winding mountain road to our perfectly spanish accomodation. The next day it was the ride...4 of us embarked on a 4 hour trek... Continue reading...

By sheer accident we finished up at Anns place-how lucky is that. Ann greets you like long lost friends, couldn't be more welcoming. We stayed for a weeks walking (which also included mountaineering although we didn't know that at the time) in Oct.2009. At the end of a hard day it was lovely to come back to the pool and bar ! Ann will probably remember us best as the couple who took four hours trying to find her place on returning from the tapas bars of Lanjaron. Even though she had left her ... Continue reading...

What with all the rain lately its been a bit difficult to get out on the bikes but surprisingly the trails havnt suffered too badly and are mostly in good condition with the odd bit of mountain slipoage to clamber over and certaimly no snow is affecting the trails at all. with great warm and cosy fires in the cottages when we get back its a lovely season to be out in the fresh air and enjoying the benefits of our southerly location . Thankfully ann has kept on top of any small problems that a ... Continue reading...
